Rueda de Bachata basics class, where several Rueda de Bachata basic steps are performed. This Rueda de Bachata basics class took place at the International Miami Rueda de Casino congress. You can get here a sample of a simple Rueda de Bachata. We start with a little warm up dancing individually. We dance traditional bachata. Then we get into the Rueda de Bachata. The Rueda de Bachata basic is comprised of: Pa’dentro, Pa’ Fuera y brinquito. From there you can add everything else. In this Rueda we call some Rueda de Bachata basics steps, like:
- Ellas pa’ Dentro,
- Ellos pa’Fuera
- Todos pa’ dentro
- Todos pa’ Fuera
- Dame una
- Dame dos
- Vuelta al mundo y ellas pa’ dentro
- Ellas pa’dentro y pa’ fuera continuamente
- Shake it baby
And as you can see, the caller can start calling the steps one right after the other one. The caller of the Rueda, can make it as dynamic as he/she wants. The less basics we leave in between steps, the more fun and energetic this whole dance becomes. For the caller, this also takes practice and needs to adapt to the level of the group. If the group is just starting, coming back to basics will help make sure that every one is on the same pace. But as soon as the groups picks the steps easily, he/she should start calling faster and faster the next steps, and combining them in different order. Only with a few Rueda de Bachata basics, you can already have a lot of fun. You don’t need a whole bunch of steps, but it is also fun to keep adding to the repertoire, as the group progresses. If new students join the group, mixed them up with those who already know the steps, but it is important that leaders keep leading and followers following, so this is really partnering dancing and any one can join the Rueda.
